In this latest cake class, we're working a lot with fondant. Here is a rose I made out of fondant. They won't taste good, but they look pretty, and there will be a lot of them on my next cake in two weeks (I have homework for cake class--maybe I should act like Ryley when he has to do homework and whine a lot about how homework is so boring, then make 10 flowers, then play lego starwars for 10 minutes, then make 10 flowers, then play lego starwars for 10 minutes, then make 10 flowers, then...)

This cake went in today to Doug's work (as usual--I want to make the cakes, not eat them). I'm not sure if it tasted good--it was yellow cake with some apricot pastry & cake filling I found in the baking section at Wal-mart, and then fondant which normally doesn't taste good, but my instructor put some pina colada flavoring in it, and I'm not sure if that made it better or worse.

I was supposed to put a bead border made of the usual frosting, but I was too lazy to make frosting just for the border, so the cake had to go to Doug's work unfinished. I'm hoping no one minded ;-)
